Bachelor of Arts/Bachelor of Science in Mathematics

The Math Department offers the Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree and the Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in mathematics. The mathematics requirements for the two degrees are identical; the difference between them is the number of science credits that are required.

Bachelor of Science in Mathematics/Statistics and Computer Science, Integrated

This integrated major provides students with a combination of in-depth knowledge of mathematical foundations and technical computer science skills. It is intended for careers that require a strong computer science foundation and a strong mathematical/statistical background.

Bachelor of Arts in Mathematics/Statistics and Economics, Integrated

The Mathematics/Statistics and Economics B.A. integrates the core principles of economics, mathematics and statistics, providing students with a comprehensive education in these fields. The Mathematics/Statistics and Economics B.A. program is ideal for students seeking a variety of industry or government jobs that require more technical training, or for students who plan to pursue a graduate degree in economics after completing their B.A. degree.

Mathematics Minor

A minor in mathematics consists of 18 credits in mathematics, with a grade of C or better in each course. Transfer students must complete a minimum of 9 of these credits at CSU to earn the minor.

Statistics Minor

Students interested in a career or graduate school that requires a research component involving data analysis should consider earning a Statistics minor. The study of mathematics, psychology, sociology, biology, environmental science, health science, social science, among others, can be greatly enhanced by a minor in statistics.
