The Math Learning Center

Math Learning Center (MLC) is part of the Academic Support Hub on the 2nd floor of Berkman Hall, and is located in room BH 230.  It is your source for free Mathematics Tutoring; homework assistance; and exam preparation.  MLC does not require an appointment and is accessible to you whenever MLC is open.  Additionally, as a student, you, your instructor, or your advisor can request assistance from MLC through Starfish.  When a request is made, a member of staff will reach out to you to setup an initial visit. MLC is open only when classes are in session.  

MLC hours, effective Tues 1/20/26 (and subject to change) are as follows:
Monday-Thursday          9:00am-7:00pm
Friday                  9:00am-4:00pm
Other inquiries, questions about MLC functions, and requests for assistance can also be made by emailing mathlearningcenter@csuohio.edu.

MLC will operate on a limited schedule the week of 1/12/26 while staffing needs are assessed.  MLC will also operate on a reduced schedule during finals week.  See BH230 for more information.
 

You will be asked for your CSU student ID when you work with someone from MLC.  It is of benefit to make use of MLC as early as the need arises.

You can also make an inquire about individual sessions with a member of MLC staff through by emailing mathlearningcenter@csuohio.edu. Please be patient during the first few weeks of the term while MLC staffing needs are assessed and implemented.

The Math Emporium

The Math Emporium, located on the second floor of the Michael Schwartz Library (RT 230), is a state-of-the-art learning center where students can interact with adaptive MyMathLab Plus software and a highly skilled instructional team. Students learn through an innovative, engaging and easy-to-use program designed to help them become comfortable and proficient in basic mathematics.

Operation STEM 

Operation STEM (OpSTEM) is a grant-funded program which provides students with a community of peers established through a summer bridge experience. Other program highlights include financial support, supplement instruction in precalculus and calculus classes, research opportunities, and the opportunity to participate in professional development, networking, and social events. The goal of OpSTEM is to promote the successful completion of STEM degrees at CSU.
