Physics graduate student, Peninah Mumbi Kariuki - Best Graduate Student Poster Award at the American Physical Society’s Eastern Great Lakes Section Fall Meeting,
Physics graduate student, Peninah Mumbi Kariuki has won the Best Graduate Student Poster Award at the American Physical Society’s Eastern Great Lakes Section Fall Meeting, held at Eastern Michigan University on October 24 – 25, 2025. Her poster, “Study of Rapid Annealing of DNA Origami Structures,” highlights research conducted under the guidance of Dr. Petru S. Fodor, chair and professor of physics, and Dr. Chandrasekhar R. Kothapalli, professor of biomedical and chemical engineering. This project was completed in collaboration with Joseph Russo, an undergraduate participant in the CSU Soft Matter REU program supported by the National Science Foundation.
