CSU Physics student Kimberly Lenart was recently featured on WKYC's "IN THE SKY" regarding the annual Leonid’s meteor shower, which is visible nearly the entire month of November.
From early to late November, the Earth passes through a cloud of debris, remaining from a passing comet called Temple-Tuttle. As we pass through that debris, small meteors burn up while ramming into Earth's atmosphere.
The peak intensity of the meteors is during the evening of November 17th & 18th and decreases through late November.
"IN THE SKY" is a popular astronomy-related video series on WKYC that was Introduced this Summer by CSU Research Astronomer Jay Reynolds.
