POLITICAL SCIENCE ADVISING
Welcome to the Political Science (PSC) advising page, where you can learn about our faculty advisors, contact us to ask a question about your PSC and/or International Relations (IR) major, schedule a virtual or in-person meeting, and locate the most commonly used advising sheets to help you plan your degree completion.
You will also find helpful links to campus resources to help assist you in developing career goals and prepare for life after graduation, including our ongoing speaker series, “Careers in Political Science.”
The PSC advisors are available to help you with:
- Selecting courses in the PSC and IR majors
- Identifying appropriate internship opportunities
- Discussing post-graduate plans
Associate College Lecturer and Undergraduate Program Director
Dr. Stack studies American politics. He can answer questions you may have about course selection for the PSC or IR majors. Dr. Stack is also happy to chat about post-graduate plans. You can contact him to answer questions or set up meetings via e-mail. You can also set up in-person meetings via Starfish.
Professor and Chair
Dr. Lewis specializes in international relations and European politics. He can help advise you on PSC and IR questions. You should contact him if you are pursuing one of our internship courses. His preferred method of contact is email, which is also the surest route for prompt replies. Or you can phone, email, or Starfish to set up an appointment in-person.
Virginia is the department secretary and can assist with answering general questions and entering course permissions into the system. Preferred contact method is by email, although you can also call and stop in the department office, Monday through Friday, from 7:40 a.m. to 4:40 p.m. Usually Virginia is out from 1 to 2 p.m. for lunch.
ADVISING ASSISTANCE IS AVAILABLE IN MULTIPLE WAYS
