Why CSU Physics? Originally, my goal was to work toward a degree in math, with a minor in education. After some consideration, and a little push from Dr. Zilichikhis recommending me to work as a TA for the department, I switched to a physics minor. This quickly changed to a physics and mathematics dual major, a decision that I am beyond happy to have made. Later down the line, I was offered an option to work toward a Master’s degree in optics and materials. As a student, the physics faculty helped push me further and further, providing me not only knowledge in the laws of physics that describe the world around us, but also in how to take this information and teach. I gained valuable hands on experience from teaching in the labs which helped give me the confidence to stand in front of a class and speak, even if only for a brief moment. Various course presentations provided me with an insight on how to design a presentation so that the length of the talk matches the available timeframe. I was even able to present a research poster (based on research with Dr. Heus) at the OSU Supercomputer center!

Why CSU Physics? My love of physics began my senior year of high school when my physics teacher, Mr. Gotch, showed Jearl Walker's Kinetic Karnival videos. Physics was immediately my favorite subject. I went on to achieve a B.S. in Biology and Physics and a M.S. in Physics from Cleveland State University.
