Patrick Herron Awarded Peggy Dixon two year scholarship!

Pat Herron.jpgCongratulation goes out to Patrick Herron for receiving the 2022 Peggy Dixon two-year scholarship from the Society of Physics Students (SPS)! The purpose of the SPS scholarship program is to encourage the study of physics and the pursuit of high scholarship. The Peggy Dixon Two-Year Scholarship is intended for students transitioning from a two-year college into a physics bachelor's degree program. The scholarship is named in memory of Dr. Peggy A. Dixon, SPS and Sigma Pi Sigma Historian from 1992-2003. 

Patrick is a teaching assistant for the Physics Department, an undergraduate researcher and an active SPS officer who served as the secretary and currently is the outreach coordinator and the president of the CSU's chapter of the SPS. He was also a participant in the Undergrad Research Award (USRA) program in the Summers of 2021 and 2022 working with Dr. Streletzky on light scattering by polymeric microgels and other systems. As a senior in CSU's 4+1 Master's Program, Patrick looks to be Completing his Bachelor of Science in Physics This academic year, and will complete his Master of Science in Physics in 2024.
