AI Workshops

AI Workshops

Published on

The AI Teaching and Learning Lab, in collaboration with the Academic Support Hub, is excited to offer a series of Interactive AI Workshops designed specifically for students. These workshops aim to demystify artificial intelligence and empower students to engage with AI tools critically and creatively in their academic work.

We would greatly appreciate your help in spreading the word! Please consider posting or sharing the attached flyers in your classrooms, on your office doors, or via your course communication channels.

Workshop Details

Below are the titles, descriptions, and registration links for each session:

"AI in Writing: Permission, Process, and Practice"
ai and writing workshop

This interactive workshop is designed to find that balance. We will move from personal reflection (pondering what we might lose if we let AI do our thinking for us) to navigating permission structures (investigating what our institutions, instructors, and assignments allow). Most of our time will be spent working together, discussing strategies for verifying AI-generated content, avoiding plagiarism, and citing or attributing AI content responsibly. You’ll leave with a clear framework for making thoughtful choices about AI's role in your writing—and the confidence to use it as a support for your growth, not a substitute.

"AI and Learning Strategies: Developing Effective Study Tools"
ai and learning strategies workshop

In this hands-on workshop, students will explore six evidence-based learning strategies rooted in cognitive psychology—such as retrieval practice, spaced repetition, and elaboration. Then, using AI tools, they’ll design personalized study aids that align with these strategies to boost retention, deepen understanding, and make studying more efficient. This workshop is perfect for students looking to optimize and expand their study skills and explore new learning tools. Be sure to bring a computer to this interactive AI workshop; registration is required.

"AI in Research: Power and Pitfalls"
ai in research workshop

Artificial Intelligence is changing the way we do research — from speeding up literature reviews to generating data analysis. In this interactive workshop, we’ll explore some of the strengths and limitations of using AI tools in academic research. Whether you're curious about ChatGPT, data-driven insights, or ethical concerns, this session will help you think critically about where AI fits (and where it doesn’t) in your research journey.
