Mass Spectrometry Activities

The Cleveland State Mass Spectrometry Facility offers a full range of HPLC/MS support for CSU investigators. In addition, the CSMFS provides analytical services to outside academic, medical and industrial institutes. These include:

  • Availability of facility instrumentation for direct operation by CSU users
  • Training of CSU faculty, students, and others in instrument operation and data analysis
  • Assistance of investigators in their research projects on experimental design, method development, and problem-solving aspects
  • Promotion of research collaboration between CSU and other institutions
  • Analysis of samples by facility personnel; providing consulting and expert assistance in sample preparation, analysis, and data interpretation
  • Assistance for scientists in grant applications, including:
    • Serving of facility personnel as co-PIs or consultants
    • Obtaining preliminary data
    • Writing HPLC/MS experimental sections
    • Writing support letters
  • Co-Authorship on research publications
  • Classroom education
