Fall & Spring Scholarship Guidelines

As an OpSTEM Scholar, you can earn up to $300 each semester while gaining the skills, connections, and support you need to succeed in your STEM degree. Our scholarship program combines academic success, career preparation, financial literacy, and community building — all designed with your future in mind.

What You’ll Experience

  • Semester Kick-Off & Wrap-Up Gatherings – Connect with fellow scholars, learn program expectations, celebrate your progress, and build community. Lunch is provided.
  • Academic Success Workshops – Gain strategies for excelling in mathematics and staying on track in your STEM coursework.
  • Resume & LinkedIn Development – Create and refine professional materials that help you stand out for internships, research, and full-time positions.
  • Career Fair Participation – Meet employers, explore internship opportunities, and build your professional network.
  • STEM Speaker Series – Hear directly from industry professionals about career paths, real-world projects, and advice for success.
  • Financial Literacy Workshops – Learn how to manage credit, understand loans, and make informed financial decisions during and after college.
  • Scholarship Support – Get guidance on finding and applying for additional scholarships to reduce your educational costs.
  • Faculty Mentorship – Meet with a dedicated OpSTEM faculty mentor who supports your academic progress and career goals.
  • Community Social Events – Participate in optional social gatherings that strengthen connections within the OpSTEM cohort.
  • Mathematics Course Completion – Successfully pass your required math course to stay on track in your STEM degree and earn the largest portion of your scholarship.
