STEM Peer Teachers

SPTs

STEM Peer Teachers (SPTs) are undergraduate students who provide mandatory supplemental instruction to students in courses they've excelled in. The SPTs work with instructors to deliver SPT Sessions which help students practice and master content within the course. The SPTs help increase students' interests, abilities and confidence so they can excel through the precalculus - calculus course sequence.

SPT Sessions

SPTs play a pivotal role in enhancing the academic success of their peers in the precalculus to calculus sequence. Through engaging lesson plans, collaborative group work, and focused individual activities, SPTs provide mandatory supplemental instruction tailored to reinforce classroom learning. By creating an interactive and supportive environment, SPTs help their fellow students deepen their understanding of complex mathematical concepts, build confidence, and develop problem-solving skills essential for STEM success. These peer educators embody a passion for teaching and a commitment to fostering academic excellence within their communities.
