Final Friday Focus of the Semester: Eric King

EK

Our final Friday Focus for the semester includes our first featured alum. Eric King is a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor and President of Medical and Emotional Wellness Centers of Ohio (MEWCO). Eric is a multi-CSU alum, first earning his BA in Psychology in 2003, followed by his MA in Clinical Psychology in 2006, and a ME in Clinical and Mental Health Counseling in 2016. Eric has fond memories of his time working with many professors and mentors at CSU, particularly the late Dr. John Wilson, who helped develop Eric’s passion for examining how trauma uniquely effects different groups of individuals. Eric is currently interested in outreach efforts with current and future psychology undergraduate and graduate students interested in the various pathways for pursuing careers in mental health. To this end, he is working on expanding MEWCO’s internship program and creating a minority men’s mental health network. When he is not navigating his multiple roles as a clinician and entrepreneur, Eric enjoys spending time with family, golfing, drawing, and voraciously reading.
