John Powell
Audio Engineer, Coordinator of Audio Services

John Powell comes from a line of entertainers and has been active in the Cleveland production scene for almost 20 years. During and after completing his degrees at Cleveland State (BA in Music, BA in Communication: Film and Digital Media), he freelanced as an independent audio reinforcement, recording, and radio broadcast engineer. Specializing in on-site and studio audio recording/editing, he has participated in several film, television, and music releases. He has also maintained a relationship with CSU's college radio station, WCSB, as an engineering staff member. After college, he began a career with the Telos Alliance, a Cleveland-based manufacturer of audio processing equipment for television and radio. He left Telos in the fall of 2021 and joined the full-time staff of the CSU School of Music, where he now oversees the upkeep of the Music School's recording studio and audio facilities.
