Pioneering Faculty 

Faculty in the History Department are pioneers in the fields of digital and public humanities. Current department projects include

• Queer Cleveland 

These projects demonstrate the breadth and depth of possibilities in digital humanities and are grounded in historical thinking and information literacy skills. CSU is uniquely positioned to provide students with hands-on experience in courses and opportunities to be research assistants for the Center for Public History + Digital Humanities and the Cleveland Teaching Collaborative. 

Instructors from across campus are collaborating with History to offer a range of content and skill-based courses in the digital humanities major. Digital Humanities students will take interdisciplinary courses in Graphic Design, Geographic Information Systems, Data Ethics, and Podcasting. 

Versatile Career Opportunities 

Students trained in digital humanities will excel in careers where digital skills meet humanities content. These include nonprofits, cultural and educational institutions, communications, marketing, web design, law enforcement, and public administration. 

Digital Humanities Plus 

Urban GIS Certificate 

Digital Humanities majors complete all requirements for the Urban Geographic Information Systems Certificate without any additional courses.
