  • Favorite Memory: The number of times I came to Mike wanting an answer or solution and could NOT get it from him. It was challenging and painful in the moment but later I realized it was my first experience with coaching – having someone support you in finding the answer yourself. Years later when I became a certified coach, I looked back on that with such appreciation and awe. Mike became so much more than a professor and advisor over the years we worked together, and I can’t thank him enough for the support he provided that helped me grow in both my professional and personal life.

  • Favorite Memory of Time in Lab: While I was writing my thesis, Dr. Horvath really challenged me to be mindful of the details and ensure that each thought and assertion was given the proper attention. This approach helped me to write a thorough and well-rounded thesis and it continues to help me in my day-to-day responsibilities as an analyst. While the thesis was one of the more time-intensive and challenging projects I've worked on thus far, it was also the most rewarding.
