The College of Arts and Sciences (A&S) educates future artists, creators, performers, and researchers with broad knowledge and enduring transferable skills. Our academic programs prepare students for the workplaces of today and empower our graduates to create new places for themselves as the workforce grows and changes. 

With 175+ full-time faculty and 3,000 students, the college offers 3 doctoral degrees12 master’s degrees, and 31 bachelor's degrees.

Congratulations to our Best Poster Award A+S Winners from the 2025 Undergraduate Summer Research Award Poster Session! Award winners received a gift card and lunch with Provost Dr. Nigamanth Sridhar and Associate Vice-President for Research Dr. Roman Kondratov.

We are thrilled to announce that Anita Dhara (PhD candidate) and Sumayea Meem (PhD student) from Dr. Merlin Nithya Gnanapragasam's lab have been selected for the NIDDK Center for Excellence in Hematology Student/Postdoc Exchange Program.

Environmental Sciences lab students, led by Dr. Brice Grunert, recently collaborated with researchers at NASA to produce media documenting the lab's PACE validation activities.

Josh Hoeflich won the top art prize in “Supporting (our) Phase Shifts” category at the Congress. His art piece was titled “Spectral Inheritance”. The Congress was also attended by fellow CSU Physics students in Denver.

Phillip Wanyerka (Ph.D.), Director of Anthropology, and the CSU Archaeological Field School Program, was contacted by the Richfield Heritage Preserve to do winter archaeology at an historic 1836 home called the Oviatt House.

The Cleveland State University (CSU) Chemistry Department and the broader university community fondly remember the legacy of Professor Emeritus Dr. Lily M. Ng, who passed away peacefully on September 22, 2025, in Minneapolis, MN, at the age of 79.
