Ms. Almashni

Almashni

Ms. Almashni completed her Master’s Degree in 2008 and has since been involved in various Arabic and Hispanic cultural awareness programs for the greater Cleveland area, as well as teaching Spanish at Cuyahoga Community College.  In addition to teaching, she works as a Housing Court Specialist for the Cleveland Municipal Court/Housing Division, mediating and interpreting for the community. In reflecting on the benefits of attending a graduate program at Cleveland State University, Ms. Almashni notes that the convenient class hours allowed her to maintain a full-time job while enjoying the curriculum and teaching methods offered by the professors.  Being passionate about literature and poetry, especially feminist literature in Spanish, the professors assistance at CSU “proved invaluable not only in acquiring the necessary research and analytical skills, but also in expanding [her] topics of interest”.  She credits her ability to start teaching the aforementioned cultural workshops about Hispanic Traditions and Arabic Culture to the “profound knowledge acquired through the Master’s program” at Cleveland State University.  Ms. Almashni proudly states that CSU gave her a broader vision and a cultural intelligence within the Latin American and Arabic communities.
