Creative Arts Intern Fellowship is open for applications for the Fall 2024 Semester

StudioInstitute_logo.pngThe goal of the Cleveland State University—Studio Institute Arts Intern Partnership is to establish a Creative Arts Intern Fellowship program to accelerate undergraduate students into careers in the creative arts in Cuyahoga county, Ohio.

Ten awards per academic year will be made, and each Fellow will receive $1,500/semester scholarship, a paid internship ($15/hour, 10 hours per week, 15 weeks per semester), and career mentoring at a local, creative institution. Any semester-long fellowship may be renewable for an additional semester.

Eligibility

  • Full-time CSU undergraduate juniors and seniors with majors in Art, Design, Creative Writing or Film
  • 3.0 Minimum GPA in the major

Fellowship Details

  • $1,500/semester tuition scholarship
  • The internship will be paid at $15/hour (10 hours per week/15 weeks per term)

Fellowship Internship Expectations and Responsibility

It is expected that Fellows will work 10 hours per week at the internship location. They are expected to treat the internship seriously as both a  learning experience and pre-career placement.

Fellowship Internship Partners

The Studio Institute will help place the students in internships at local arts organizations such as the Artists Archives of the Western Reserve, the Cleveland Clinic Art Program, the Cleveland Museum of Art, Foluké Cultural Arts Center, the Cleveland Museum of Natural History, the Cleveland Print Room, the Sculpture Center, and more.

Fellowship Online Application Process 

  1. Complete a fellowship application form
  2. Submit a statement that answers the question (300 words): “What is your career plan and how will this fellowship and internship help realize your career goals?”
  3. Submit examples of past work or a portfolio
