The College of Arts and Sciences (A&S) educates future artists, creators, performers, and researchers with broad knowledge and enduring transferable skills. Phillip Wanyerka (Ph.D.), Director of Anthropology, and the CSU Archaeological Field School Program, was contacted by the Richfield Heritage Preserve to do winter archaeology at an historic 1836 home called the Oviatt House.

This innovative summer 2026 program abroad provides exciting academic opportunities for undergraduate and graduate students by partnering with a well-known institution in San José, Costa Rica. By design, this program highlights the many ways that proficiency in Spanish and familiarity with Latin American cultures can enrich careers and lives across a broad spectrum of professions, fields of inquiry, and personal interests.
Lake Erie Ink, in conjunction with Cleveland State University’s Department of English, recently hosted young writers in grades six through 12 inside Mather Mansion’s storied walls for a day of creativity, community and inspiration.
The F. Merlin Bumpus Junior Investigator Awards celebrate outstanding research by junior investigators in clinical and laboratory settings by recognizing the best researchers among the nearly 500 Ph.D. students, postdoctoral fellows, residents and clinical fellows affiliated with the Cleveland Clinic.
