Research

Current projects in the C.A.R.E. lab include analyzing different models of universal screening for behavioral and emotional risk, and understanding how best to move from screening to intervention. Our lab uses a mixed method design to help answer questions about the type of data schools collect to identify students for behavioral intervention, and the way students and teachers report this information. Another focus of our lab is learning how to build school capacity to work with students from ethnically and linguistically diverse backgrounds. Current projects focus on the role schools play in the acculturation process for first generation students, and the unique experiences of Arab American youth in schools. Dr. Naser also works with schools nationally to better understand the roles schools play in supporting refugee youth and their families in the school setting.
