BECOME A RESEARCH PARTICIPANT
We have several research studies going on in our laboratory. You must be 18 years or older to participate in this research. Please read the brief descriptions below, and if you are interested in more information about the studies or determining whether you are eligible to participate, then please contact us.
Computerized and pen-and-paper tasks: This information assesses how people process various types of emotional information (information that we find pleasant and/or unpleasant in our environment). Participation can range anywhere from 30 minutes to 3 hours, depending on the particular tasks that you would be asked to perform.
Eye tracking: We use non-invasive eye tracking methods to assess whether the information you pay attention to in your environment influences how you feel (and vice versa). You will be asked to view either a series of pictures, video clips, or words while we monitor your eye movements. Participation usually requires a 1-3 hour time commitment.
Psychophysiological recording: We use psychophysiological recording measures (namely heart rate and skin conductance responses) to examine how body signals are influenced (or influence) the way you process information in your environment. This can include different types of stimulus presentation or interpersonal interactions. The psychophysiological recording is sometimes included with our eye tracking measures. Participation usually requires a 1-3 hour time commitment.
