Program Description
Develop a deeper understanding of the history, cultures and contemporary issues of Native American peoples, allowing you to critically analyze and engage in discussions about indigenous perspectives and experiences. The minor consists of 12 credit hours.

Admissions Process
Application Requirements
You've never attended college or all your college credits were earned prior to high school graduation (College Credit Plus or dual-enrollment).
Step 1:
Complete the application for undergraduate admission. Freshmen applicants can apply here through the CSU Application or the Common Application.
Step 2:
Submit the $40 application fee.
Step 3:
Submit official transcripts. Visit the transcripts page for more information on how to send your transcripts.
Step 4:
CSU is test optional for Admission. Students are encouraged to submit official ACT/SAT results for scholarship consideration.
Step 5:
Once your application is submitted and reviewed, you will receive an admission decision. Respond to your offer and complete these next steps to secure your spot.

A degree in Native American Studies Minor opens career paths across a diverse set of industries. Graduates can pursue roles such as:
- Community Outreach Specialist – Develop programs and partnerships that support Indigenous and diverse communities.
- Cultural Resource Coordinator – Assist museums, cultural organizations, and heritage institutions in preserving and promoting Indigenous history and culture.
- Policy Research Assistant – Conduct research on Indigenous policy, tribal governance, and community development for government agencies and nonprofit organizations.
- Education Program Coordinator – Develop educational programs that promote cultural awareness and inclusive learning.
- Research Assistant – Support academic, historical, and social science research related to Indigenous communities and cultures.
- Nonprofit Program Coordinator – Manage initiatives focused on community engagement, cultural preservation, advocacy, and public education.
