• STEM Peer Teachers (SPTs)

Calculus SPT Sessions: Students are required 2 extra contact hours in addition to the regular class time. The additional hours are led by STEM Peer Teachers (SPTs) who are trained peer instructors in Calculus. The SPTs re-emphasized concepts, give quizzes and review additional practice examples in large and small group work.

One-on-One Tutoring: The SPTs hold office hours on a weekly basis in which students can receive specific one-on-one tutoring to review math concepts.

Supportive Peer Groups: Each LSAMP Scholar cohort, comprised of approximately 30 students, begin to bond during their two-week Summer Institute which takes place prior to the start of the fall semester.
