Academic advising for students within the College of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences is a multi-layered process. First-year students should begin by meeting with their First-Year Advisor located in the First-Year Advising Office, MC110. Then moving into their sophomore year, students will need to meet with their General Education CLASS Advisor to review their progress and discuss remaining general education requirements. (The only exception to this is for students who participate in the Honors and Scholars, Athletics, and/or TRiO programs. Those students will be advised in their Program Advising Office.) ALL CLASS students will also be advised by a faculty advisor in the department that houses their major to discuss the requirements for their major. (If the student is seeking teaching licensure [except for the Music Education major], they will have another advisor in the College of Education to discuss education requirements.)
