Organization Mission: The Museum of Contemporary Art (moCa)
Cleveland is a unique and dynamic place for the visual art of our time. We challenge, inspire and teach a wide range of audiences. Our purpose is to push the boundaries of innovation, creativity and exploration through exhibitions, publications, education and outreach programs.
Since its founding in 1968, the Museum of Contemporary Art (moCa) Cleveland has played an urgent and exciting role in the city's cultural landscape. As a FREE, non-collecting institution and the region’s only contemporary art museum, moCa is ever-changing, introducing new exhibitions three times a year and creating fresh experiences for visitors each season. moCa Cleveland offers a fun and friendly place to
fuel imagination, cultivate creativity, and discover new ways to see, think, and share.
Total Number Served Annually: 40,000
moCa Cleveland's educational programs help audiences engage with contemporary art and ideas at various life stages and interest levels. Intergenerational families gain new perspectives and insights through guided tours, artist talks, and interactive making programs often on moCa Saturdays. Teachers connect contemporary art practices to academic curriculum through the Museum's resources and customized exSCHOOLsive tours. Kids experiment with materials and art-making processes in our interactive Learning Labs. Programs serve PreK youth to senior adults.
