To develop artistic skills, professional expertise, and critical appreciation of art for careers in fine art and design fields, the Department of Art and Design offers a broad range of courses in studio art, art history, and graphic design for majors, minors, and non-majors. The Department of Art and Design offers three majors: studio art, art history, and graphic design. We also offer four minors: studio art, art history, graphic design, and visual studies minor for non-majors. For example, you can major in studio art with a minor in art history or have a non-art major (such as communication or psychology) and one of the minors from our Department.
Additionally, students can take courses to fulfill university and college graduation requirements or for personal enrichment without the commitment of a major or minor. The Department of Art & Design also offers certificates that lead to promising career paths, such as Arts Management & Community Development, Pre-Art Therapy, and Graphic Design.
