Graduate Student Research

Prospective graduate students interested in working with Dr. Vail in his Social Research Laboratory are encouraged to apply for admission into the Experimental Research Program (ERP) and to contact Dr. Vail to discuss possible shared research interests.

The ERP area is a 2-year Master's degree program, with academic training based on the apprenticeship-model: only a few students are admitted each year, and each student is matched to a faculty advisor whom will serve as the student's mentor, research advisor, and provide general support.

With acceptance to the program, you would be matched with Dr. Vail as your advisor, and it would be expected that you would work closely together to a) train in both content and methodology, b) actively build your academic record (i.e., research), and c) position you for admission into a strong PhD program by the time you graduate.

More information about submitting an application to the ERP Master's degree can be found by clicking here.

Dr. Vail is always looking for talented graduate students, and welcomes inquiries and applications from interested students.
