You've never attended college or all your college credits were earned prior to high school graduation (College Credit Plus or dual-enrollment).

Step 1:

Complete the application for undergraduate admission. Freshmen applicants can apply here through the CSU Application or the Common Application.

Step 2:

Submit the $40 application fee.

Step 3:

Submit official transcripts. Visit the transcripts page for more information on how to send your transcripts.

Step 4:

CSU is test optional for Admission. Students are encouraged to submit official ACT/SAT results for scholarship consideration.

Step 5:

Once your application is submitted and reviewed, you will receive an admission decision. Respond to your offer and complete these next steps to secure your spot.

Major Requirements

Required Core Courses (6 credits)

All students are required to complete the following two courses with a grade of “C” or higher. ENG 306 must be taken as a co-requisite with the student’s first semester of enrollment in all 300 and 400-level literature and creative writing classes. 

• ENG 306 - Literary Analysis
• ENG 400 - Critical Research Methods

Concentrations

Students complete an additional 33 credits of ENG courses in one of the following concentrations: literature, creative writing and publishing, or secondary English licensure.

Literature Concentration

Period Distribution Requirements (12 credits)

Students take one course in each of the following 4 distribution areas. To complete this requirement, students may take the British and American Literature surveys (ENG 221, ENG 222, ENG 231, ENG 232), 300-level classes within the relevant time period, or a combination of both. Early British Literature, 800-1800

Choose one of the following courses:
